About me

I am Alirexa Mohseni, born on May 17, 1986, in Tehran.

My childhood was spent hating school but loving storytelling, listening to music, reading comic books, and most importantly, painting.

After finishing high school and completing my military service, I left Iran. I continued my studies in Budapest in the field of American Studies, specializing in Journalism, and graduated with that degree.

When I completed my education in 2017, I returned to Iran and started working as a journalist. During that time, I drifted away from painting, especially since severe skin allergies made working with traditional art materials quite challenging.

After three years as a journalist, I joined a new team to launch an online gallery. At the same time, I discovered digital painting. It felt like a dream, because now there was nothing holding me back from painting—like regaining a lost language.

In 2021, I founded my own comic studio, “Ekbatan Horror,” with a friend. To date, we have published two volumes of comic books and produced over 60 podcast episodes.

Meanwhile, I’ve been developing my personal painting collections, and to date, I have created over ten series of paintings.

Like most living beings, my subjects are influenced by elements found in nature. At a certain point, these elements intersect with my own thought process, then repeat in unified forms to depict my world.
